New Sewing Machines

Dear Friends

The generosity of friends made it possible to provide 10 new sewing machines for the girls. The two year vocational program teaches girls how to make dresses. They were in dire need of more equipment for the girls. Your support made it possible to buy them. The joy on the girls faces was incredible.

Days For Girls

What do girls in a third world country when they have their menstrual cycle? Did you ever wonder?
Many stay home form school, miss out much on education and drop out all together. "Days For Girls" is an organization that provides reusable hygiene kits that helps the girls to stay in school, finish education and have a brighter future.


Today I was able to give out the kits made by a local Pittsburgh chapter of the organization. Along with the kits great education about hygiene, safety and sex education is provided. The girls had so many questions and great fun to learn more about their bodies and how beautiful and wonderfully God made them. You can see in the pictures how happy they are to receive such practical help.

The first full day of ministry is over. What an amazing experience.
The girls welcomed me with flowers, singing and lots of dancing. Our Sunday Service went very well and the young women are eager to learn. Thank you for praying.

Yesterday we went again to the High School to minister among the girls. Along side Aisaih, a young accomplished Kenyan lady, we shared about life's important decisions.

Taking kids on a day trip to Tsavo National Park was a highlight. They were sooooo excited to go. Everyone wanted to see Lions, but of course Elephants, Zebras and Giraffes was on every kids list to spot. We all had great fun and lasting memories were made.

Adventure in Dema

Dear Friends

This year the rainy season is very heavy. Dams are breaking and rivers are overflowing. Today my friend Betty and I visited the country side to meet with women from a village area. The roads were at times impassable by car and we needed to take a motor bike to take us to the remote area.  The hillside slopes are adventures to climb. I confess, I prayed as the bike was creeping up the hill.  Our driver was very courageous and brought us safe to the village.

Besides blessing women with some extra food I was able to share the Gospel with them. Around 100 women came to spend the morning with us. We sang, danced, prayed and listen to God's word together. It was a mixed group of women from different religious backgrounds. One of the goals is to find ways to assist women to start self sustaining businesses. Never a dull moment here in Kenya.
