Into the Village

On Friday we went to visit one of the many villages in the area. We shared the Gospel, standing and sitting under a huge mango tree. People listened very intently and it was a joy being there. The food bags are a blessing to many as the rains still have not started and the fields wither in the hot sun.

Assessment Day

Yesterday was a "big" day. 17 children and adults were assessed for wheel chairs and orthopedic devices.

We saw God's favor on all the details that went into the planning with transport, specialist and people being on time for appointments. In the evening I received a text saying: " Thank  you for being here and doing what you do. Lives are being transformed and hope is rising."

To care for those God cares is such a joy and privilege. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Outreach to the rural area of Dima

The hunger in the rural area is overwhelming. People are suffering due to the lack of rain. Crops are not growing and people have little to eat. We distribute food bags to the hardest hit population. But not only food for the body but also for the souls by sharing God's Word.

Tina translates the message I shared

Many of the women  are widows and single mothers

Community Outreach

Sitting under a Mango tree and sharing the Gospel is a highlight. The young woman had a open and prepared heart and committed her life to Christ. What a joyful event.

Mango is by far my favorite fruit in Kenya.

The trees can be huge and bearing enormous amounts of the heavy fruit. Watch when you sit under one. They can hurt 😇

Day Trip

The Team of Kuhenza welcomed us warmly.

Our exploring trip to Kilifi was very informative and helpful. We learned lots about how to operate a ministry to disabled children and families. On the way back we visited a Rescue Center for teenage  pregnant girls, we gained valuable insight.

For lunch I drank some camel milk and eat camel soup with camel meat. It's a required taste. 😀
