In The Jungle the mighty Jungle

Today Aaron showed me some more of the towns area. We went to the river and through some jungle area. The bamboo and trees are very impressive.

Impressive vegetation, its easy to feel small among such giant trees

The way down to the river

In the rainy season the water is much higher

Aaron was invited to be part of a village meeting. Men from a conservation group came to introduce method's to make a living rather then hunting animals in the forest. I took some pictures of a girl carrying parts of an animal, but they are too gruesome to show here. It's a different world for sure.

Liberia lfe

Visitors are a normal part of life here. Today I tried to keep books of how many people come to see us a day. By the time we had breakfast a gave already up my ambition. The count was already higher then two hand full. :)

After the encounter with Aaron's shoe
One of the unpleasant visitor I had the first night. The spider thought my mosquito net is a great hang out point, until he encountered Aaron's shoe. First we thought its a tarantula but closer inspection reveal it is not a dangerous one. The palm sized spider was a good reminder to check my bed in the evening.

Food Distribution for Widows and Single Mothers

Jambo Friends, a long day in the country side draws to an end and I am grateful how God has answered prayers. Together with a small team of friends I went to Diama to distribute food items to widows and single mothers. I was able to share with the women and enjoyed fellowship with them. We gave out over 200 bags of food and made new friends.

The women enjoyed  our time together. My favorite part is our dancing!

Welcoming dance, the guests are invited to join in
