Dear Friends

Today I arrived safely in Kenya. The first day was already full with activities. Settling into my room, shopping for food, meeting already with people. It is good to be here.

Today I met with an "old" friend from way back when Gil and I lived in Kenya. But I also met some kids I have never met and that was great fun. A good day to ease into the Kenyan life style.

The change of temperature was pretty intense. From -10 C to 33 C

My friend with her three kid, we go way back before kids (bk)

Leaving the village today

Today I left the village. Due to an emergency the flight was booked up. So the pilot put me just up in front with him. (I got to know him on my way to the village) What a special experience.

My time with Aaron and Amy was fantastic. I got such a good glimpse into their lives. They are an amazing  couple and have my highest respect.
One of the few pictures of the three of us

Last walk through the jungle

Yesterday we took a last walk through the jungle, passing by a coco plantation before we saw the enormous cotton trees.  The bamboo makes a lot of popping noise. First I thought someone works in the forest until Aaron explained it to me.

Monkey Buisness

Today the kids brought a little monkey around to show off. The relationship between animal and humans is a very different one then what we know. The girl will raise the little monkey and then.....
